Construction starts on Nansha hospital specializing in oncology

The Nansha branch of the Affiliated Cancer Hospital and Institute of Guangzhou Medical University started construction on Oct 28.

Covering a total land area of 67,603 square meters, the hospital is being built on the west side of Wanxin Avenue in Wanqingsha town. Upon completion, it will offer 1,000 beds for patients.

Focusing on oncology medical care, the hospital will provide physical examinations, outpatient and emergency services, as well as inpatient medical services.

It is committed to realizing the all-around development of tumor prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services, while also focusing on scientific research and teaching, with plans to build itself into a high-level teaching and research-oriented oncology hospital.

The hospital will be constructed in phases. The first phase of the project is expected to have 500 beds and cover a total construction area of 87,511 sq m. It is also expected to offer 737 parking spots for motor vehicles and 2,188 for non-motor vehicles.

In addition, it plans to integrate six categories of systems, including an information facility system, a public security system, as well as a medical professional intelligent application system, aiming to fully develop itself into a smart hospital.
