The foreign affairs office of the Guangzhou municipal government held the 2022 event for foreign envoys in Guangzhou to visit Nansha district on Sept 9.

Consulate generals in Guangzhou from 30 countries gathered in Nansha, where they visited the Nansha Planning Exhibition Hall, the digital service trade platform, and the Nansha Port of Guangzhou Port. They also took a test ride on a Pony.ai driverless vehicle and had discussions with Nansha district officials.

Nansha officials provided interpretations on the district's taxation, shipping, and financial policies, answering questions that the envoys in Guangzhou had.

Lu Yixian, Party secretary of Nansha district, said that the Nansha Plan clearly supports Nansha in building a high-level hub that is open to the outside world. "This is not only a development opportunity for Nansha, but also an important opportunity for countries to deepen cooperation and achieve win-win development," he added.

Lu expressed hope that all consular officials in Guangzhou will make efforts to deepen Nansha's cooperation with foreign countries and attract more people to visit Nansha.

Marshall Louis M. Alferez, consul general of the Philippines in Guangzhou, delivered a speech on behalf of foreign envoys in Guangzhou. He spoke highly of Nansha's economic and social development achievements, adding that he believed that Nansha is gradually becoming an attractive international investment destination.

He added that all of the consular officials are willing to work with Nansha to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win results.
