Guangzhou reports 3 COVID-19 cases

On August 16, Guangzhou reported that three local COVID-19 cases. The three patients have already been placed under quarantine as close contacts of a previously diagnosed COVID-19 patient in another province. Mass PCR testing will continue to be carried out in Huanghuagang Subdistrict of Yuexiu District, Dayuan and Tonghe Subdistricts of Baiyun District.

Details of COVID-19 cases who returned from another province

The 1st patient is a one-year-old boy.

The 2nd patient is a six-year-old girl who is the older sister of the 1st patient.

The 1st and 2nd patients live in Huanghuagang Subdistrict of Yuexiu District. They returned to Guangzhou from another province along with their parents on August 13. They tested negative on August 13 and 15 and were placed under quarantine on August 15 as close contacts of a previously diagnosed COVID-19 patient in another province. They tested positive on August 16 and were transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.

The 3rd patient is a 29-year-old woman who lives in Dayuan Subdistrict of Baiyun District. She returned to Guangzhou from another province on August 13. She tested negative on both August 13 and 14 and was placed under quarantine on August 15 as close contact of a previously diagnosed COVID-19 patient in another province. She tested positive on August 16 and was transferred to Guangzhou No. 8 People's Hospital for quarantine and treatment.
