State Council issues plan to deepen Nansha's development

An overall plan for Nansha district in Guangdong's provincial capital Guangzhou to deepen comprehensive cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao has been issued recently, with the State Council holding a press conference discussing it on June 24.

Zhang Jiamao, director of the Nansha district bureau of development and reform, said that Nansha has initially built a multi-level, high-quality modern industrial system, with broad industrial space and strong industrial strength.

Zhang noted that Nansha will seize the development opportunities coming from this plan to create an internationally competitive economic and trade cooperation platform, as well as to become a driving force leading the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and China.

Wang Wenjing, director of the Nansha district bureau of industry and information technology, said that the output value of Nansha's automobile manufacturing industry exceeded 150 billion yuan ($22 billion) in 2021. From January to May, the output value of the automobile manufacturing industry maintained a growth of about 40 percent.

Wang noted that Nansha will make good use of the plan to develop smart manufacturing and digital industries, as well as to promote high-quality industrial development.
