A consortium composed of the Guangzhou Municipal Planning Institute, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group, as well as China Architectural Design and Research Institute successfully won the design plan bid for Nansha Station after passing through three rounds of fierce competition.

Nansha Station is expected to further optimize Guangzhou's transportation network and enhance connectivity among all major cities within the Greater Bay Area when it is put into operation.

It is an elevated station that will connect with Nansha Port Railway, Shenzhen-Maoming Railway, and other railway lines, as well as with Metro Line 18, Line 15, Line 38, and other metro lines. It is committed to becoming a world-class, high-quality comprehensive transportation hub.

The station will employ an exterior design that incorporates wave-like shapes to display marine culture characteristics. A combination of photovoltaic panels, PVC film, and ETFE film will be used in the construction of the roof, which can solve daylighting and shading problems at the same time.

The arrival hall will be linked to the outer space with a spacious passageway, making it easier for passengers to find the right way to go. This passageway will lead people to a commercial area, making the station boast high commercial value.

Supporting traffic facilities will be laid out on both sides of the station. People can get to the subway station, bus station, taxi, and parking lots within a three-minute walk. Vehicle boarding and drop-off areas will be separated from the parking lots.
