Guangzhou's Nansha district has seen success in its efforts to constructing a law-based business environment, ranking first in the city for these efforts.
It was also included in the first batch of national demonstration zones for the construction of law-based government and ranked high among national-level new districts in business environment evaluations.
By the end of 2021, Nansha had introduced more than 220 investment projects from Fortune Global 500 companies, while the total number of its market entities exceeded 300,000, an increase of 60 percent over 2020. Among them, 80,000 new enterprises were established last year, with a growth rate of 65 percent.
In the 2020-2021 China Pilot Free Trade Zone Institutional Innovation Index released by the Institute of Free Trade Zones of Sun Yat-sen University, Nansha ranked in the top three in the law-based environmental institutional innovation index.
While meeting the legal service needs of mainland market entities, Nansha also focuses on serving overseas investors including those from HK and Macao.
Nansha has established the Hong Kong and Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Law Support Service Center, serving 246 Hong Kong and Macao youth entrepreneurship project teams in the district, as well as providing cross-border legal services for Hong Kong and Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship matters.
In recent years, Nansha has accelerated the construction of a world-class legal service system. It opened the first foreign law identification center in Guangzhou, which can identify the laws of more than 80 countries and 180 regions, including the United Kingdom, the United States, as well as countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
In the future, Nansha will strive to create a first-class business environment that is market-oriented, legalized, and international to better stimulate the vitality of market entities.
