Many shopping malls and tourist attractions in Nansha have begun to accept e-CNY for payments, while Nansha Talent Bureau has also given a resettlement subsidy to 10 high-level talents in Nansha by e-CNY.

This was the first case of giving out talent subsidies in the form of e-CNY in China.

The 10 high-level talents who received the e-CNY subsidy included talents from Hong Kong and Macao, in addition to those from the Chinese mainland, indicating that people from Hong Kong and Macao can also use e-CNY in Nansha. They expressed that it is creative, efficient, and safe to distribute subsidies in this manner.

In addition to using e-CNY for talent subsidies, the Nansha notary office, tourism attractions, and shopping malls have also developed ways for the e-CNY to be applied.

People can make offline payments at the Nansha notary office. After payment, the funds can be sent to the e-CNY account of the notary office for free and the account can be checked immediately after logging in to the system.

At present, Nansha Tianhou Palace and Nansha Wetland Park can provide online and offline consumption services that use e-CNY as payment. For example, visitors are also able to use e-CNY to buy tickets.

Wanda Plaza shopping malls in Nansha can receive money in the form of e-CNY, and withdraw money to bank accounts without withdrawal fees.

"Becoming a pilot city for the e-CNY is very important to enhance Guangzhou's influence in the digital finance sector nationwide and globally," said Ren Zhihong, director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Research Center at the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences.

Digital RMB or e-CNY is the legal currency in the digital form issued by the People's Bank of China. It is convenient and safe, while also being of great significance in facilitating the development of China's digital economy, improving the efficiency of currency payments.
