Wanhuan West Road extension project to start in Nansha

The south extension project of Wanhuan West Road starts from Chong (branch of a river) 16 and ends at a sea wall in the southernmost part of Nansha, spanning a total length of 6.16 kilometers.

Construction on the project is expected to start on April 15 and is projected to be completed on Sep 30, 2023.

The road is 42 meters wide, with eight lanes planned. It will have a design speed of 60km/h for the main lane and 40km/h for the side lane.

In addition, five bridges will also be built according to the project's plan, mainly across Chong 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.

The construction of the project will serve the needs of the cultural and tourism area of the Nansha district. It will also include sponge city elements.

Five new key projects will be added from Chong 16 to 18, mainly distributed along both sides of Wanhuan West Road, with a total construction scale of 6.47 million square meters.
