Nansha is committed to building itself into the transportation center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), the total investment in the construction of Nansha's comprehensive transportation system will be about 175.6 billion yuan ($27.6 billion), with 150 investment projects, of which 57 are newly started.

Ten categories are covered in these projects, including shipping facilities, rail transit, expressways, and bus stations.

Phase I of Guangzhou Metro Line 15 travels around Nansha, and will connect Nansha Passenger Port, Jiaomen, Lingshan, and Hengli Island, spanning a total length of about 30.8 kilometers.

The southern extension line of Guangzhou Metro Line 22 will start from Panyu Square Station in Guangzhou to Dongguan via Qingsheng and Jiaomen stations in Nansha. It will strengthen the transportation connection between Nansha and Guangzhou South Station and Dongguan. The total length is about 58.4 km, with about 30.6 km in Nansha.

Nansha will accelerate the construction of a commuter rail transit system between Nansha and other Greater Bay Area cities like Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangzhou, enabling people to reach the major cities in the Greater Bay Area within 60 minutes from Nansha.

It will also speed up the construction of national railways like the Shenzhen-Jiangmen Railway and the Nansha Port Railway.

Nansha will continue to improve its shipping capacity and build itself into an international port area with efficient global logistics distribution during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

The fourth phase of the automatic container terminal of the Nansha Port Area will also be completed during this time.

It is expected that by 2025, Nansha will make progress in building a comprehensive transportation network system to enhance its connectivity with surrounding cities.
