Nansha succeeds in building GBA cooperation zone

At present, Nansha has made great achievements in building a demonstration zone of comprehensive cooperation among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in the district.

Nansha has been improving the transportation system in the surrounding area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. For example, Nansha Bridge connects the east and west banks of the Pearl River, Nansha Port Railway has been completed and opened to traffic, and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link is currently under construction.

Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have different rules and mechanisms. Nansha has been promoting the coordination of rules with Hong Kong and Macao to create a good environment for people from Hong Kong and Macao.

Fifteen banking institutions in Nansha obtained the pilot qualification for cross-border financing in the Greater Bay Area. In addition, Nansha has taken the lead in realizing the cross-border flow of municipal scientific research funds in Guangdong.

In terms of employment, which is the greatest concern to Hong Kong and Macao residents, Nansha has taken the lead in issuing professional title evaluation management measures for Hong Kong and Macao talents majoring in construction and traffic engineering.

Nansha strives to create a good scientific and creative environment for the talents of the Greater Bay Area.

In February 2021, Nansha was approved to create the first "International Talent Special Zone" in China. It was also picked as the pilot to carry out Guangdong's innovations in management and talent policy measures.

"Nansha's innovations in talent introduction policies have helped us to cooperate with universities in Hong Kong. Professors at Hong Kong universities now don't have to worry that they will not receive government support if they cannot work full-time on the Chinese mainland because funds from the Nansha government can now be directly transferred to universities in Hong Kong," said Zeng Bin, deputy general manager of a Nansha-based dental hospital.
