Nansha starts 2022 spring sowing

On March 9, Nansha held its 2022 spring sowing event to promote its spring season food production.

Currently, Nansha has a total planting area of 270,000 mu (18,000 hectares), of which 86,000 mu is ready for spring plowing.

It showcased super rice, which is favored by many farmers due to its good taste and smell, as well as its resistance to disease.

Nansha has invested 35 million yuan ($6 million) to develop agriculture in the district, while farmers can receive a 700-yuan bonus per mu.

Nansha has also taken the lead in Guangzhou to increase subsidies for agricultural production insurance premiums to 90 percent, further reducing agricultural production risks.
