The fourth phase of the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway has completed all paving and asphalting on Oct 21, marking a new progress made in its overall construction.

The Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway runs through four cities in Guangdong, namely Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan and Jiangmen. It has 17 interchanges and connects with 10 expressways and eight provincial highways.

Being a key project under construction in Guangdong province, the expressway stretches a total length of about 67 kilometers and is expected to be opened to traffic by the end of this year. It consists of two parts, namely the 50.16-km east-west Jiangmen-Nansha expressway and the 17.15-km north-south Foshan-Jiangmen expressway.

Once operational, the travel time between Nansha to Jiangmen will be shortened by about 30 minutes by car.

The first three phases of the project have finished in 2020, which makes the transportation between western Guangdong and the east bank of the Pearl River will be more convenient.
