Nansha establishes friendly relationship with Minsk district

Guangzhou's Nansha district signed an agreement online for carrying out more international friendly cooperation and communication with Soviet District of Minsk, Belarus on Oct 22.

Lu Yixian, Party secretary of Nansha district, said that Nansha is located in the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and has seen prosperous development in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence, health, new energy vehicles, marine technology and aerospace.

Lu added that the Soviet District is an important growth pole for Minsk and has gathered a batch of advanced European institutions in areas spanning scientific research, education and arts.

The Soviet District is strong in sectors such as laser physics, new material technology, and bioengineering, and is complementary to Nansha district, bringing broad cooperation space between the two places. 

S. A. Hilman, head of the Soviet District, said that the district has been taking an active part in expanding international friend circles and expressed hope that the two districts could make full use of the opportunities brought by the agreement to have more cooperation in areas spanning economy, trade, technology, culture and tourism.
