Nansha establishes friendly ties with district in Azerbaijani capital

Guangzhou's Nansha district and Khazar district in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan signed an agreement online on Sept 28, making Khazar district a friendly district of Nansha.

Nansha, located in the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has been involved in several national development strategies. The Nansha port area in the district is expected to achieve direct connection with the China-Europe freight trains after the completion of the Nansha Port Railway project.

Khazar district, being an important growth pole for Baku's development, has strong power in shipping, industry, and agriculture as well as oil and gas production.

H.E. Zeynalli Akram, the Azerbaijani ambassador to China, said that it was a great pleasure to attend the event. He expressed his hope that the communication between governments and people from both sides can be promoted and more cooperation in areas spanning economy, trade, culture and tourism can be carried out.
