A section of Lingxin Avenue in Guangzhou's Nansha district was officially opened to traffic on Aug 10, bringing more transport convenience for local residents.

Officials from the Nansha construction center said that Lingxin Avenue, stretching 16.6 kilometers, starts from Zhujiang Avenue and ends at the northern area of Shibachong. Part of the avenue from Panzhong Road to Wanlong Avenue is a two-way eight-lane road while the remaining section is a two-way six-lane road. The speed limit on the avenue is 60 km per hour.

Being an important passage in the Zhujiang community and Wanqingsha town, the avenue has been designed as a main road running north and south in the district.

After completion, the avenue will further optimize Nansha's transportation network, push forward the urban construction of the district and boost the economic development in areas alongside the avenue.

The overall design of the avenue features the distinctive styles of Lingnan water town, and 15 bridges on the avenue have been designed to have four key attributes with each showcasing the district's culture, spirit, innovations and ecological achievements.

It is expected that the entire avenue will be put into operation by the end of 2022.
