Guangzhou, Zhanjiang ports ink deal to further cooperation

The Guangzhou Port Group and the Zhanjiang Port Group have signed a business cooperation agreement in Guangzhou, officials from the Guangzhou Port Group announced on July 14.

The two sides will carry out an all-around cooperation in various areas spanning multimodal transport, smart logistics, trade logistics, and financial logistics to promote trade liberalization and customs clearance facilitation, which will boost the economic development in both Guangzhou and Zhanjiang.

Xu Song, Party secretary of the Zhanjiang Port Group, said that Zhanjiang Port plays a pivotal role in 21st Century Maritime Silk Road development and has maintained friendly relationships with Guangzhou Port.

Xu added that the cooperation between the two ports will provide more convenient logistics channels for local companies and help Zhanjiang better immerge into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Li Yibo, Party secretary of Guangzhou Port Group, said that Guangzhou Port is the largest comprehensive main hub port in South China and the cooperation with Zhanjiang Port will be beneficial for the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
