Cherokee is capable of transporting 200 train wagons, each with a length of 14 meters. It will be used to transport trains between ports in the US and Mexico, cutting the distance by about 50 percent compared with road transportation.
Despite most communication needing to be online, and material transportation difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the design, construction and commissioning of the customized ship was completed in just two and a half years. Stephen Nolan, senior project manager of the ship's owner, was confident that the ship will amaze the American and European industry after arriving in the US.
