Compared with fuel oil vessels, LNG is able to reduce emissions of sulfur and fine particulates by 99 percent, nitrogen dioxide by 85 percent, and carbon dioxide by up to 20 percent, contributing to the air quality protection and energy transition of the marine transportation industry. This year, Nansha port area has received more than 50 vessels capable of accommodating more than 20,000 TEUs.

The Thailand CTS shipping route was launched at the third phase of Nansha container terminal on the same day. Two vessels capable of accommodating 1,080 TEUs will commute on the Nansha-Laem Chabang-Bangkok route, bringing high-quality Thailand agricultural and aquatic products to consumers in China. Nansha port area now operates 12 direct shipping routes to Thailand.
