An employment promotion fair for Hong Kong and Macao youths was held at Nansha International Talent Port in Guangzhou's Nansha district on May 15, attracting the attendance of nearly 60 students from Hong Kong and Macao who are studying at Guangzhou universities.
Eighteen companies including China Railway Guangzhou Engineering Group, Nansha Public Resources Holdings, Zhaoke Pharmaceutical and HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute provided 73 job vacancies at the fair, and are expecting to employ 135 people.
They're not only looking for high-caliber talents such as postdoctors in functional ceramic materials, but also new-type talents including electronic commerce operators and online video anchors.
"All job vacancies offered during this fair are of a high quality and most of them provide an annual salary of more than 100,000 yuan ($15,557) and the annual salary for the highest one is 600,000 yuan," said a staff member from the Nansha Youth Federation.
Aiming to encourage more youth talents from Hong Kong and Macao to base themselves in Nansha, the district has launched a series preferential policies for them, helping them in areas spanning study, employment, internships and living.
Those applying for jobs in Nansha can get a one-time reward of 3,000 yuan, while those signing labor contracts of more than two years with Nansha companies for the first time can get a one-time reward of 10,000 yuan.
