The working groups will be committed to promoting in-depth cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong in business and trade, science and technology, information science and technology and data connectivity, land planning and development, policy research, professional services, publicity, youth entrepreneurship and employment, and finance.

Its members will conduct surveys on Nansha's participation in the Belt and Road Initiative and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area construction, and other areas of Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation, while proposing strategic and forward-looking suggestions. They will also offer consultations on the key issues, policies and projects of the Guangdong-Hong Kong In-depth Cooperation Industrial Park to assist with its construction, industrial development and policy research.

Yue Yi, former vice chairman at the Bank of China (Hong Kong) and director of the committee, said that the 16 Hong Kong committee members are all social elites and industrial heavyweights with broad representativeness. They will help introduce more Hong Kong and foreign-funded enterprises and professionals to Nansha, and also help bolster the district as a top choice for Hong Kong and international science and technology enterprises, an ideal workplace for Hong Kong youths, and a suitable living place for Hong Kong citizens.
