The First Affiliated (Nansha) Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou's Nansha district recently finished construction of its main structure and is currently undertaking internal and external decoration, local media outlets reported on Dec 25.
The hospital, occupying a ground site of 156,000 square meters and with a total floorspace of 506,000 sq m, is scheduled have 1,500 beds, officials said.
It will integrate various functions including patient services, inpatient services, scientific research, teaching, rehabilitation and animal experiments for the whole Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The international health care center in the hospital has set up a total of 150 high-level inpatient wards, offering advanced medical services.
Plans are for stations to be set up at the southern part of the hospital near the Hengli River, enabling those involved in maritime incidents to be sent directly to hospital from the riverfront. Helipads are also being made available on the top of the inpatient building to the north of the hospital.
