Nansha district, which is the geometric center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has been striving to become the first choice in the Greater Bay Area for the innovation and entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao youths.
A document on encouraging and supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao youths in the district was released on May 20, which included 30 measures in areas spanning study, employment, and living. Rewards and subsidies have been made available for Hong Kong and Macao youths to further reduce the risks and costs of their development in the Chinese mainland.
The district has been active in organizing cultural communication activities for youths in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. It has forged long-term strategic cooperative relations with 76 patriotic youth associations, 47 business associations, 16 industrial associations, and 14 schools from Hong Kong or Macao since the Nansha area of the Guangdong (China) Pilot Free Trade Zone was inaugurated five years ago. At present, the district has organized a total of 590 activities, benefiting around 43,000 youths.
Nansha launched the "100 enterprises, thousands of talents" internship program for Hong Kong and Macao students in 2016 and has attracted more than 1,500 Hong Kong and Macao youths to participate in the program since.
