The groundbreaking ceremony for the Beidahuang (Greater Bay Area) Ecology Industrial City was held in Hengli industrial park, Guangzhou's Nansha district on Oct 20.

Covering 36,000 square meters, the Beidahuang (Greater Bay Area) Ecology Industrial City is expected to be built into a modern comprehensive industrial park featuring a variety of functions, such as a "green technology central kitchen," modern agricultural products processing and production, as well as a marketing platform focusing on the Greater Bay Area.

The project is expected to finish construction and start operation in March 2022. The annual output value of the project after reaching design capacity is projected to amount to 2.1 billion yuan ($316.12 million).

Wang Gui, deputy general manager of Beidahuang Group, said that the establishment of the company's project in Nansha can push forward the transformation and upgrading of its food businesses, expand global frontier markets, as well as increase the brand's influence.

The construction of the project will help Hengli industrial park cluster more modern agricultural industries and make contributions to Nansha's development in areas like shipping logistics, modern services, as well as international agricultural products trade.
