The ferry route running between Guangzhou's Nansha district and the islands in Zhuhai, Guangdong province is scheduled to open in the middle of September to meet the transportation demands from island tourism in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Departing from Nansha Passenger Port and arriving at Wailingding Island in Zhuhai via Zhuhai's Guishan Island, the route is expected to take about 125 minutes. The trip between Nansha Passenger Port and Guishan Island is about 90 mins, while the trip between Guishan Island and Lingding Island is around 35 mins.

One round-trip trip will be conducted on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the preliminary stage of operation and the ferry will depart from Nansha in the morning and return from Wailingding Island in the afternoon. Adjustments will be made to the number of trips according to further passenger flow demands.

Wailingding Island is 28 nautical miles southeast to Zhuhai and is about six nautical miles away from Hong Kong's Cheung Chau Island, being the only island that boasts a view of downtown Hong Kong.

Wailingding Island enjoys splendid natural scenery and its main peak is 311.8 meters in height.
