Nansha Bonded Port Area has gained approval from the State Council to become Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone after integrated optimization.

The comprehensive bonded zone is one of the special customs supervision areas in China with the highest level of opening-up, the most preferential policies, the most complete functions, and the most simplified procedures.

Guangzhou Customs has launched a series of innovative institutions and projects to boost the high-quality development of the city's export-oriented economy.

The total import and export volume of foreign trade of Nansha district in 2019 grew by 3.4 percent year-on-year to 213.78 billion yuan ($30.97 billion), accounting for 21.4 percent of Guangzhou's total. The import and export volume of foreign trade managed by Nansha Bonded Port Area in 2019 climbed to 73.46 billion yuan in 2019, a 14.46 percent increase.

Preferential policies applying to other comprehensive bonded zones will be implemented in Nansha. For example, companies in the zone will be allowed to carry out bonded testing and global maintenance business in line with environmental protection requirements with high technology and high added value.
