The second phase of Xian Xinghai Museum in Guangzhou's Nansha district has opened to the public following renovations which marked the 115th anniversary of Xian's birth, chinanews.com reported on June 15.
The renovations, which started in September 2019, cost 350,000 yuan ($49,323.52). They mainly focused on the external area of the museum, and included the creation of five new themed sculptures and a music experience area, based on Xian's time in Singapore and the Soviet Union.
Xian is a legendary Chinese composer who was born in Banmei village, Nansha's Lanhe town. Since Banmei village is a fertile area with charming folk culture, Xian created many masterpieces using the folk cultural elements of his hometown.
Qiu Chuiyuan, the designer of the second-phase renovation, said that materials with strong durability and security such as fiberglass, stone and baking varnish were applied in the construction as the project is exhibited outdoors.
