Chenxu, an old custom in Guangzhou culture, is similar to village fair trade in which people gather at specialized places on the same day to carry out trade.

Local communities in Guangzhou's Nansha have still preserved this custom.

The fairs in the 1960s and 1970s mainly sold agricultural products, while the current fairs cover various kinds of products, including fruit, snacks, and daily supplies.

Those who want to do business at Nansha's fairs only need to pay rent to the owner of the fair venue.
