Guangzhou's Nansha district was one of the two sub-venues for the signing ceremony of the city's first batch of major digital infrastructure projects and welcomed 18 projects valued at 38.64 billion yuan ($5.46 billion) on May 8.

A total of more than 200 companies managing digital infrastructure participated in the online ceremony, such as Huawei, China Aviation Cloud, iFLYTEK Co Ltd, and Philips.

Being the only sub-urban center of Guangzhou, Nansha has achieved a contracted investment of 20 percent of the total amount of the city, covering various areas spanning the demonstration and application of 5G, data centers, artificial intelligence platforms, cross-border e-commerce, as well as new energy.

It is expected that the construction of these projects will boost high quality development in Nansha and inject new vitality into the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The project for the fourth phase of Nansha Port will make full use of advanced technologies, such as the Internet of Things, 5G, big data, and cloud computing, to build the first fully automated terminal in the Greater Bay Area.

IFLYTEK will integrate 5G and AI technologies in the establishment of an AI smart campus platform to benefit education in the Greater Bay Area.
