Nansha's commerce, tourism industries bolstered during holiday

The commerce and tourism industries in Nansha were bolstered during the past May Day holiday, according to the Nansha culture, radio, television and tourism bureau.

Tourism attractions in Nansha district received a total of about 412,200 tourists in the five-day holiday, as well as around 68,600 cars.

Outdoors scenic areas like Nansha Tianhou Palace and Nansha Wetland Park carried out measures like limiting the number of visitors, real-name registration, and daily regular disinfection as part of its measures for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

"Tourists have to wear masks in the scenic area and have to maintain a distance of no less than 1.5 meters in queues," said a staff member from Nansha Tianhou Palace.

"We drove all the way from Foshan here and it only took us a little over an hour as the road was quite clear," said a tourist surnamed Xu at Nansha Tianhou Palace.

A vendor surnamed Du from Nansha Shisichong Seafood Market said that the market has seen more customers during the holiday and that it was good to feel busy.
