The research institute for precision medicine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was signed to be located in Guangzhou's Nansha district on April 30.

The research institute is one of the major projects introduced to the industrial base for precision medicine in the Greater Bay Area in Nansha district. It will be jointly invested in and constructed by Fudan University, Guangdong province, Guangzhou, Nansha district, as well as the investors of the industrial base.

Precision medicine incorporates customized healthcare through medical decisions, practices, and products that are tailored to the individual's needs.

The research institute will introduce scientific outcomes in precision medicine from home and abroad, boost the transformation and upgrading of Guangzhou's biomedicine industry, as well as contribute to the construction and cultivation of a world leading life health industry cluster in Nansha.

A relevant person in charge from the Nansha district government noted that the industrial base can bring economic benefits to local companies quickly and support the development of the research institute in return.
