Guangzhou's Nansha district released a total of 37 measures to make sure its annual economic and social development goals could be achieved on April 28, covering various aspects like improving its business environment and boosting the development of major industries.

The measures are expected to help Nansha companies relieve a burden of about 500 million yuan ($70.64 million).

Companies affected by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) who cannot pay for the basic endowment insurance for the elderly, unemployment insurance, and work-related injury insurance for its staff members are allowed to delay the payment for three months after the end of the epidemic without additional overdue fines.

Companies renting the premises of state-owned companies subordinate to the local district can enjoy one month of rent free, and half price rent for the next two months.

Companies participating in insurance can receive an additional subsidy of 50 percent of their reward for realizing no layoffs or fewer layoffs in 2019 if they continue to achieve no or fewer layoffs.

Companies can also receive a one-time pre-job subsidy of 500 yuan for each new staff member working for more than three months and the total subsidy for each company is up to 500,000 yuan.

Preferential policies in boosting the stable development of Nansha's foreign trade will be launched to offer more policy support for manufacturing-oriented foreign trade enterprises in the district to lower their production and operation costs.

Residents or employees in Nansha district can receive a certain amount of subsidy for purchasing gasoline powered vehicles or fuel-efficient (hybrid) vehicles produced by companies registered in Nansha.

Talents newly introduced to Nansha can receive a housing allowance of up to 60,000 yuan as long as they have paid social insurance or personal income tax for three consecutive months.

Nansha will keep devoting great efforts in pushing forward the construction of 203 major local projects and releasing plans for a batch of new infrastructure projects, covering areas like 5G, big data centers, artificial intelligence, and industrial internet.
