Guangzhou releases new outbreak risk ranking

Updated: 2020-03-05

Guangdong province recently published an updated notice giving guidance on anti-epidemic effort. Based on it, the provincial capital city of Guangzhou reevaluated the risk rating of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia in all of its districts.

At present, Nansha ,Yuexiu, Conghua and Zengcheng are low-risk districts. The other seven districts remain at medium level.

Nansha has implemented Grade IV prevention and control work, as Guangdong lowered the response level of public health emergency from the top to the second level.

Although some residents relaxed their vigilance and began going out without wearing masks and gathering together. Returns to work and school are now being carried out in an orderly manner.

Although most enterprises have resumed production, it does not mean that the COVID-19 epidemic is over. The two longest suggested incubation periods must be observed until the last suspected case is “cleared”.

Until a province or an area sees zero growth of confirmed cases, and no cases are reported within the following 28 days, the outbreak should continue to be the major focus.
