Nansha seeds support for medical treatment partnership

Updated: 2020-01-20

The local health authority in Guangzhou’s Nansha district has publically signed an agreement with Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital to construct a medical alliance which will provide residents with higher-quality services.

The two sides are expected to promote the development of a diagnosis and treatment procedure based on the severity of illnesses, and to strengthen the links between local hospitals built around certain specialties.

The red cross hospital, an emergency response unit in the city, has six key clinical specialties at provincial level, including a burns unit, orthopedics, rehabilitation medicine, gastroenterology, nephrology and dermatology departments.

According to the agreement, Nansha residents will have access to telemedicine services provided by the experts from the hospital through the remote Electro Chemical Grind (ECG) and other platforms. “Let data run more, not the people,” it says. It’s designed to help more people.

If a patient’s condition requires it, they can also be directly referred to the hospital through a “green channel”.

Afterwards, the district will safeguard the downward transfer channel for the treated patients with a clear diagnosis, in a stable condition or a recovery stage, to ensure continuity and effectiveness in the follow-up treatment. In this way, people can not only gain high-quality medical services, but also save on costs.

Notably, it is beneficial to promoting the sustainable development of Nansha’s medical services, and to fostering a new medical hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The district can improve their resources and staffing by using outstanding management concepts, supporting key departments, cultivating core talent, and bringing in excellent professional technology and nursing experience.

In addition, the medical alliance will make full use of the informatization platforms and high-technologies from the hospital, as well as the advantages of data collection from grassroots medical institutions, to promote their cooperation on basic or clinical research.
