Experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao gathered in Guangzhou's Nansha district to carry out deep discussions in the cohesion of regulations in three areas during the first communication fair for innovation cooperation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which opened on Dec 9.
Cai Chaolin, Party chief of Nansha district, said that "system differences" in regulations in the three places should be changed to "system benefits" to better serve the overall development of the Greater Bay Area, expanding the space for cooperation between Nansha, Hong Kong, and Macao.
The plaque of a training base for the cooperation and study of international capacity, as well as an employment and entrepreneurship base in Jinan University (JNU) for Hong Kong and Macao youths was unveiled during the conference.
The training base was co-built by the administration committee of the Nansha area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone and JNU to focus on opening-up and innovation, establishing a globally leading business environment, as well as contributing to cooperation in the capacity and technologies between Nansha and countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road Initiative.
"The university currently has more than 7,000 Hong Kong and Macao students on campus, ranking tops among all universities in China. We have also built seven joint laboratories with five universities in Hong Kong and Macao," said Song Xianzhong, president of JNU.
A normalized regular matchmaking platform between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao named after Nansha was set up during the conference, which is the first of its kind in China.
The platform will make full use of JNU's advances in academic research and its advantages of being a cultivation base for high-caliber Hong Kong and Macao talents, building a mechanism for the regular communication and inspection among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
