The district’s anti-drug commission and a sci-tech firm co-developed therobot, “Tianche-e”, which will be employed by commission as a“social worker” to improve its services.

By using an AI algorithm and big data interactive information, it is possible to conduct human-machine dialogues with drug addicts and their families, and to provide services such as interviews, urine tests, and mental health assessments at any time.

Nansha district will also establish standardized electronic files of drug users to facilitate drug control and improve service management for anti-drug social workers.

Drug rehabilitation personnel need to make an appointment with the social worker in advance. Then, the robot can complete the interview at the specified time. After the interview, the robot will automatically generate a record.

"In the past, traditional interviews had low efficiency. Paper files were not convenient for quick search and analysis,” said Yang Qingqiu, deputy commander of the district’s anti-drug brigade.

"The interview with the help of the robot can generate three transcripts at one time, reducing the workload of record sorting by 80 percent. At the same time, the robot can automatically create multi-dimensional files, extract the needs of service objects, and comprehensively grasp the progress of anti-drug services," he added.

This is the first anti-drug robot used in the field of drug rehabilitation in Guangzhou. It will serve as an important supplementary force of anti-drug teams, and promote the standardization and intelligence of the management of drug users.

It will also improve the efficiency of communication with drug users, so as to achieve lowerrisks of loss and accurate service management.

At present, the first anti-drug robot has been used in the Huangge subdistrict of Nansha. In the future, the robot will be provided tothe social security workstations of Nansha’s nine subdistricts.
