It was released at the first Intelligent Networked Vehicle Road Testing Awarding Ceremony, the establishment event of the Guangzhou Intelligent Networked Vehicle Demonstration Zone Operation Center, also in Guangzhou on June 20.

The event was organized by the city’s transportation bureau, industry and information technology bureau and the public security bureau.

Thirty-three roads with a total mileage of 45.64 km in the city's Huangpu, Baiyun, Huadu and Nansha districts, were unveiled to be open to road test at the event.

Guangzhou is in first place in the intelligent networked automobile industry through policy and standard setting, a new stage for Guangzhou intelligent networked vehicle testing.

If you see this special license plate number "Guangdong A0V12 test" in Nansha, it means that the driver in the car can hold the cup in both hands and drink tea.

It is a new type of driverless car relying on the artificial intelligence algorithm platform. This is also the first intelligent network car road test license obtained by Nansha.

The test roads are divided into primary and secondary roads. The primary session is already open and the second one is about to open.

In the four open regions, Nansha has the longest number of open roads, with the total number of kilometers accounting for 36 percent of Guangzhou.

"Due to the openness and support of local government, Pony AI's road test data in Nansha is the most abundant, and it is different from California, Beijing and Shanghai. This provides us with great help in data and technology breakthroughs," said Zhang Ning, general manager of Guangzhou Pony AI.

Pony AI driverless team conducts road tests in various areas of Nansha, with more than 30 driverless vehicles.

It has launched self-driving taxi in Nansha. Users can place orders on apps or applets, while autonomous vehicles can travel to user-designated locations such as offices, residential areas, and business areas.

Pony AI got the California Road Test License in May 2017. It was the first Chinese startup qualified for California road tests. The current autopilot road test range in California exceeds 60 square kilometers.

The Guangzhou Intelligent Network Demonstration Zone Operation Center is responsible for organizing the intelligent networked car data center, promoting the closed test field of the demonstration area and the construction of the intelligent networked automobile industry base.

The center’s establishment is one of the important steps in the design of the top layer of the Guangzhou Intelligent Network Automotive Demonstration Zone.

"It is expected that more than 200 licensed autopilots will drive on open roads over 200 km in Guangzhou in the next three years," said by Gao Zhiwei, general manager of the center.
