Its earliest inhabitants lived in a mountain quarry. Today Dagang town is ranked 154th among China's towns.

Luohan Mountain

Luohan Mountain, formerly known as Lion Mountain, is located in the southeast of Dagang Town. It is a rare forest hill in the northern part of Nansha, with a total area of 5048 mu (3.37 sq km) and an elevation of 127.3 meters.

According to legend, in 202 BC, after Xiang Yu committed suicide in the Wu River, Liu Bang tried to recruit Xiang Yu’s subordinates. Chen Sheng and Wu Guang's team fled to south Guangdong. Among them, 18 generals fled to Tanzhou and climbed Lion Rock in an emergency. (a story of Romance of the Three Kingdoms）

From then on, they lived in the cave on the top of the mountain, and they became the "eighteen arhats". Marking their presence, on the top of the mountain there is a Luohan Tower. The tower has seven layers and is 49 meters high. It looks like fine Lingnan architectural art.

In the valleys of Dagang Town, nearly 10 varieties of rhododendrons compete for sun and open space, and the scenes of them crowded into large colorful blocks make visitors forget to return home.

Summer is the season to check out crape myrtle. Three kilometers of the yellow flower of the Chinese scholartree and Chinese redbuds add a large amount of color to the mountain road.

Roast Chicken

In order to ensure a delicious taste, only free range chickens with strong flesh and tenderness are selected.

Each chicken is coated with a secret sauce and dried before cooking. Then it is put into a special corrugated pan and fired with traditional firewood. As soon as it starts to cook, its juicy flavor comes out.

Sugar Cane and Dagang Water Town

The fruit cane forest in Dagang Town makes a beautiful picture. Sugarcane is a main product of Dagang in recent years. The taste of the sugarcane is crispy and sweet.

Dagang town is also worth noting, as it is full of different surprises at different times. 

Although Dagang town is not as famous as Jiangnan Water Town, it has formed its own unique flavor through the years.
