Two Nansha kindergartens pilot food source traceability system

Updated: 2019-05-20

The Nansha Food and Drug Administration and the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly launched a food safety supervision platform for food source traceability.

The system can realize food safety warning and traceability.

At present, it is being tested in two kindergartens in the district and will be promoted in the whole district in the future.

Li, director of the logistics department of Haili Kindergarten said "We used the system for only a few days, but I feel that this system is very helpful for food safety."

If the food recorded in the system is about to expire, the system will automatically issue a warning.

If big data indicates that the recorded supplier or food source is having food safety problems, the system will also provide an early warning to avoid kindergartens' purchase or consumption.

"The operation of the system is very scientific, which greatly enhances the kindergarten’s food safety management," Li said.

The details of each food purchase by the kindergarten must be filled in as part of the system.

The person in charge of the software department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said,"For the purchase of pork, the kindergarten needs to write a lot of information such as the suppliers and the inspection and quarantine certificates into the system to ensure safety and traceability."

The supervision department can inspect the consumer’s use of the platform, or conduct on-site inspections of the ingredients for comparison with the system data. At the same time, relevant information can be published on the platform.
