On Jan 30, epoxy asphalt paving of the last 300m of the steel deck of the Dasha Waterway Bridge, part of the Humen Second Bridge Project, was completed. So far, over two kilometers of the project's bridges have been paved, an important step towards the project's closure.

The reporter learned  that the steel decks of the bridge adopt a double-layer hot mix epoxy asphalt paving system, involving five structural layers and six processes. The area with single-layer paving is now 130,000 square meters, equivalent to 18 standard football fields and the world's largest.

At around 11:00 am on Jan 30, two paving machines slowly drove off the asphalt surface, completing the Humen Second Bridge pavement project, known to the workers as "the most difficult hard bone."

Construction of the Humen Second Bridge began on May 1, 2018, and now there are fewer than one hundred scheduled days left. So although completion of paving is an important step, the work must continue.

In other parts of the country, most people are packing their bags to reunite with their families, but at the construction site of Humen Second Bridge, 500 workers will be at their posts during Spring Festival doing their usual jobs.
