How does Nansha transform from geographic center to intelligence center?

Updated: 2019-01-18

A nine-year-old Nansha Lingshan Island school is expected to be completed in August this year. It will realize the comprehensive informationization of the education process through the digitalization and intelligence of its campus environment, resources and activities.

Nansha is also following the path of group-based education. Jinlong Primary Education Group and Nansha Primary Education Group were listed in April 2018. The exchanges between teachers within the group have increased significantly, and school management and curriculum teaching have been jointly promoted. Teacher-student exchanges between the primary and secondary schools in Nansha and the sister schools in Guangdong and Hong Kong have become increasingly frequent. In addition, teaching levels have been improved through collaborative teaching and exchanges.

How does Nansha’s education match its development status?

Only by creating a good educational ecology can we create a more attractive environment for innovation, entrepreneurship and employment, and attract innovative talents.

However, Hou Jingmin, director general of the Education Bureau of Nansha District, admitted that although the overall level of education in Nansha has made great progress, there is still a certain gap with the current development status of Nansha.

During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, Nansha plans to invest 6.3 billion yuan ($930 million ) and build 23 new schools to meet the future population needs of Nansha.

Within Nansha, an educational front-runner is also being built that will become the power source of the central area of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area in the future.

Located at the northeastern part of Nansha, Qingsheng Station is the Guangzhou Metro Line 4 station and is also the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway station.

The Qingsheng site will focus on artificial intelligence, connected technology, creative makers and other related industries. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) is also located there.

In the future, Nansha will strive to build an international education park in Qingsheng, and introduce several international schools to create full chain education from kindergarten to college. Some schools will officially enter this year.

“Nansha has the confidence and ability to create an educational status that matches the development orientation of Nansha within five years,” said Wang Yong, vice mayor of Nansha district.
