Humen Second Bridge
At the estuary of the Pearl River, the Humen Second Bridge consisting of two magnificent bridges spans the Dasha Waterway and the Nizhou Waterway and connects Nansha, Panyu and Dongguan. It can be foreseen that after the completion of the Humen Second Bridge, the “blood veins” of the Dawan district will flow more smoothly. In addition, key projects such as the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage and the Lianhua Mountain Crossing River Passage, and the construction of transportation infrastructure throughout the cities of the Bay Area are also accelerating. Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has also revealed the prototype of a world-class super-large city group. The “Bridge Age” in the Bay Area is about to become a reality, and the one-hour economic circle is just around the corner.
Humen Second Bridge
At present, the construction of the Humen Second Bridge project is progressing smoothly. The demolition of the catwalk of the Dasha Waterway Bridge and Nizhou Waterway Bridge has been completed as has the whole line of the main bridge. The steel bridge deck pavement operation is underway. The next step will be the bridge deck and ancillary works. They are expected to be completed and open to traffic in May 2019.
Construction of the Humen Second Bridge
After the completion of the Humen Second Bridge, it will be shortened by 10 kilometers from Guangzhou Nansha to Dongguan, so that the time from Dongguan to Panyu will be shortened to 30 minutes. This will help alleviate the overloaded traffic of the existing Humen Bridge and promote the rapid flow of economic development factors such as inter-regional flow and logistics. And it will have profound impact on high-quality development of the Pearl River Delta by improving the transportation system and building a world-class city and Bay Area.
