Founded in 2003, Lonza Guangzhou Nansha Ltd is a high-tech enterprise set up in Guangzhou, China by Lonza Group. It offers special services for customers from pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets.

Covering an area of 220,000 square meters, the company mainly produces chemical products including nicotinamide (vitamin B3), L-carnitine, sanitary and anticorrosive products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and chemical intermediate. 

As one of Lonza's core factories integrating production, R & D and customer support in China, the products and services of Longsha Guangzhou Nansha Ltd have spread to China, Asia and the rest of the world.

The company has long been committed to product development and technological innovation, its subordinate company -- the Lonza Drug Development (China) Nansha Chemical R & D Center (formerly "Guangzhou Longza Research and Development Center"), possesses superior R & D capacities in the small molecule drugs, peptide drugs, imitation pharmaceutical, analytical services, patent search and analysis fields. The center provides not only customers with innovative development services and solutions, but also strong technical support for the Lonza company in contributing to China and the world's drug development. To date, the center has conducted more than 500 R & D projects, of which 16 have been granted patents.

From 2010 to 2013, the API manufacturer plant in the company passed for twice the field inspection and quality system audit before the FDA’s approval. In 2014, the company successfully passed the quality system audit from the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and was issued the EU GMP certificate. In 2015, it passed the field inspection and quality system audit from the Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Administration (PMDA). In 2016, it passed the quality inspection of the US FDA. In addition to it, the nicotinamide products have obtained pharmaceutical, food, and feed-related production license.
