Golden fish, a general term refering to Yellow brow, Yellowfin bream (Sparus latus) and Spotted scat

Yellow brow

Yellow brow (Huangmeitou), also called lionfish (found only in Shiziyang or the Shizi Channel), is a unique fish species of Nansha District living in the intersection area of salt and fresh water in the Pearl River Estuary. It is about 10 centimeters long and has a color of golden orange. The meat is tender without smelling fishy, and can be enjoyed best by steaming with garlic and soy sauce.

Yellowfin bream

Yellowfin bream (Huangjiaoli), with strong adaptability and rapid growth, turns into a kind of delicious and quality edible fish rich in nutrients thanks to high protein and low fat. Its tender meat is equally good whether served fresh or salted. Its high economic and nutritive value has won the fish a ready market. Yellowfin bream has been certified as a pollution-free agricultural product.

Spotted scat

Spotted Scat (Jinchiyu or Jinqianyu) is 20-30 centimeters long, and appears to be strongly compressed into an oval shape. Its tender meat carries rich nutrients best preserved by steaming.
