Updated: 2026-09-29

Guangzhou's Nansha district will hold a six-day National Day celebration from Oct 1 to 6, with the Greater Bay Area Coastal Beer Carnival taking center stage at the Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Center in Wanqingsha town and a supporting venue at Nansha Bay Beach, a coastal landmark known for its fan-inspired design.

The carnival will run daily from 10 am to 9:30 pm at the center's central plaza, featuring live bands, electronic music parties, beer-drinking contests and hanfu fish-lantern parades.

Nansha Tianhou Palace will host Mazu rituals, lion dances, martial arts shows and nightly KTV sessions from Oct 1 to 6, with adult tickets offered at a 20 percent discount. A village gala on Oct 1 will bring folk music, Sichuan opera face-changing and magic performances to the palace beach.

The Nantianhui All-Time Esports Challenge at Puzhou Plaza will run from Sept 30 to Oct 6, blending AI digital creativity, intangible cultural heritage and a trendy market. The second Eel Culture Festival at the Greater Bay Area Central Wetland Park will offer grilled eel tastings from Oct 1 to 6.

Other highlights include a polo match, a kite carnival and half-price access to five sports at the cultural and sports center on Oct 1, rounding out a packed holiday program across Nansha.
