Looking back at the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Nansha achieved a series of major milestones. It's GDP exceeded 200 billion yuan ($29.66 billion) and surpassed 240 billion yuan in 2025. One industrial cluster reached 100 billion yuan and four exceeded 30 billion yuan.
Nansha will implement a five-port linkage strategy covering sea, air, rail, digital and talent hubs. It will strengthen advanced manufacturing, with the intelligent connected and new energy vehicle sector targeting 300 billion yuan and the marine engineering equipment sector aiming for 100 billion yuan.
Emerging industries such as biomedicine, semiconductors and new energy will be expanded, while modern services including shipping logistics, finance and trade will be upgraded.
Nansha will build Nansha Science City and innovation platforms around HKUST (Guangzhou), aiming for R&D intensity of 5.8 percent and 3,000 high-tech enterprises by 2030.
It will deepen rules alignment with Hong Kong and Macao, support enterprises going global, and build an international talent hub to attract over 100,000 university graduates.
Meanwhile, a youth-friendly urban area will offer better education, healthcare and jobs, alongside a greener coastal city.
The district is expected to play a stronger role in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as the plan is implemented.
