Lai Ningchang, chairman of Dongling Holdings, shared the sector's long-standing challenges. "Reliance merely on spot purchases means dual volatility in commodity prices and exchange rates can easily wipe out an enterprise's full-year profits," he said. His firm once suffered losses exceeding $29.61 million within hours amid sharp forex swings in 2015.

Nansha's national-level financial policies have led to tangible progress. Multinational firms are conducting cross-border currency transactions here, and more than 10,000 free trade accounts have been opened. The m-CBDC Bridge (mbridge) enables near-instant fund transfers. Blockchain platforms also streamline customs, forex and tax procedures for over 5,000 traders.

New partnerships signed at the conference will further cut settlement risks. As Lai noted, decades of supply chain efforts have carried a single soybean across continents. Now, Nansha's financial innovations help more global traders secure smooth capital circulation, cementing its status as a vital trade hub in the Greater Bay Area.
