Youth Olympism experience camp strengthens Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao youth sports ties

The 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Sports Exchange Camp, also known as the Olympism Experience Camp, officially launched on July 29 in Nansha, bringing together over 150 outstanding students aged 12 to 18 from Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao.

Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, president of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, and Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, vice-president of the committee and chairman of the Hong Kong Olympic Academy, attended the opening ceremony. Sui Wenjing, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics figure skating pairs gold medalist, was invited to share her athletic journey at an open class, inspiring teenagers to carry forward the Olympic spirit and strive for self-improvement.

This marks the second consecutive year the flagship youth sports exchange event has been held locally following its relocation from Hong Kong in 2025. The three-day camp serves as a vital platform for enhancing mutual understanding and deepening practical sports cooperation across the region. With continuous improvement of sports infrastructure and efforts to build a hub for international sporting events, the area is poised to inject new vitality into the integrated development of youth sports in the Greater Bay Area.
