Guangzhou-based Rongjie Group has committed over $1.48 billion to a new energy cluster in Nansha, with fixed-asset investment already exceeding $1.18 billion. Its subsidiary, Rongjie Energy Technology, which was founded only four years ago, entered the global top 10 for energy storage cell shipments in the first half of 2026.
Two production bases now span more than 46.67 hectares. The 26.67-hectare lithium battery plant is Guangzhou's largest, while a 24.67-hectare materials base produces 100,000 tons of anode and 50,000 tons of cathode materials annually, filling a key industrial gap. A third phase is planned on a 36.67-hectare site, with an investment of $886.56 million to produce next-generation high-energy-density energy-storage batteries.

The company is mass-producing 588Ah large-capacity cells and advancing 5C solid-state batteries toward mass production. Solid-state and perovskite batteries are targeted for commercialization by 2027 and 2028.
Chairman Lyu Xiangyang credited Nansha's strategic location, cross-border logistics and policy support as decisive factors for the investment. Nansha has already attracted more than 10 new energy and energy storage projects, forming a complete chain from core materials to terminal systems. The district aims to further strengthen this cluster and welcomes more enterprises to be part of its green energy future.
