Nansha signs cooperation agreement with Italy's Cordenons

A delegation led by Andrea Vedove, mayor of Cordenons, Italy, paid an official visit to Nansha, Guangzhou on July 20. During the visit, the two sides held talks and signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, laying the foundation for closer long-term collaboration.

During the meeting, local authorities outlined Nansha's strategic positioning as a core area of the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone and a key opening-up gateway of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, along with its industrial strengths and preferential policies. Both sides identified strong cooperation prospects in shipping logistics, high-end manufacturing, green energy and modern agriculture. Vedove noted Cordenons' competitive edges in port resources, new energy, specialty agriculture and vocational education, highlighting strong industrial complementarity between the two sides.

The delegation also toured local high-tech enterprises, the GAC Science and Technology Museum, the fourth phase of Nansha Port and Youngy Group, gaining first-hand insights into the area's progress in new energy vehicle manufacturing, advanced materials and international shipping operations.

The signing marks a breakthrough in Nansha's local cooperation with western Europe. Leveraging its free trade zone advantages, Nansha will advance regular industrial matchmaking, academic exchanges and people-to-people interactions, delivering tangible outcomes and strengthening China-Italy comprehensive strategic cooperation.
