Digital port: building a global data cooperation hub

Nansha district is stepping up development of a global hub for data cooperation, leveraging its robust computing infrastructure, compliant cross-border data circulation and diversified application scenarios to drive the in-depth integration of the digital and real economies.

As home to South China's only IPv6 root server, the area now boasts over 11,000 petaflops of intelligent computing power, ranking among the top national new districts. 5G-A and 10G optical networks cover all key industrial zones, providing solid support for intelligent manufacturing upgrades, and the total computing capacity is on track to reach 20,000 petaflops within two years.

A dedicated data export service window and a provincial-level negative list have clarified compliance pathways for cross-border data flows. The local data exchange currently lists more than 4,600 items, with 2,107 new data products launched in the first quarter—a 30 percent quarter-on-quarter increase.

Diverse application scenarios turn data resources into tangible economic benefits, from autonomous ride-hailing with over 7 million operational kilometers to pioneering cross-border practices in green finance, medical research and cultural trade. Backed by a 30-billion-yuan fund matrix and policy incentives, the local AI sector is growing at over 30% annually, nurturing a vibrant digital ecosystem. With a data-driven strategy at its core, this pivotal hub is converting every data connection into real value and solidifying its role as a key hub of global data cooperation.
